Choose the Chaos

Interactive story games, creative side quests, and strange little doors into the fractured worlds.

Not every story begins as a novel.
Some begin with a strange question, a suspicious object, a haunted room, a talking lunchbox, a prophecy tea, or one character making a decision that absolutely should have been supervised.
Choose the Chaos is a collection of playful interactive story-game experiments by me, Annabell Hall. These pieces are not part of the official novel canon. They are creative warm-ups, side quests, storytelling games, and glimpses into the lighter, stranger corners of the imagination behind the books.
Some are spooky.
Some are ridiculous.
Some develop lore before anyone can stop them.
That is generally how it goes around here.
How It Works
Each story begins with a setup, a character, and a problem.
Sometimes the story includes choices.
Sometimes there is a dice roll.
Sometimes readers are invited to comment, vote, or simply follow along as the chaos unfolds.
The goal is not perfection. The goal is play, momentum, and discovery.
These stories give me a place to experiment with voice, genre, humor, character, and atmosphere while building small worlds that are allowed to be weird on purpose.
Current Story Game
Room 413

A haunted resort, a secret witch on holiday, a stolen name, and one woman’s stubborn commitment to getting some rest.
Vivienne Wren has recently graduated from a hidden magical academy outside London and arrives at The Ashwick Grand intending to behave like a perfectly normal guest.
She wants dinner, a warm fire, interesting people, and possibly a book.
Naturally, she arrives by broom.
Naturally, the hotel is haunted.
Naturally, there is a room key for a floor that does not exist.

Future Side Quests
No Refunds After Prophecy
A steampunk tea-witch story involving prophecy tea, a cursed wedding contract, one overdramatic mechanical swan, and several people who should not be trusted around breakfast buffets.
The Talking Lunchbox Incident
A cyberpunk delivery disaster involving a broke courier, a hovering robot, a suspicious lunchbox, corporate crimes, and customer service that has clearly gone feral.
More strange doors may appear later.
They usually do.
A Note About Canon
Choose the Chaos stories are separate from the official book universes unless clearly stated otherwise.
That means they are free to be playful, experimental, strange, funny, spooky, or deeply inconvenient without affecting the main series timelines.
The official novel worlds include Chronicles of the Rogue Gods, Dead Titans, Rage Gorgons, Lord Mecha, and Embernalia.
Choose the Chaos is where the side quests live.
Please do not feed the machines.
Please do not trust the haunted hotel.
And if a door appears where no door should be, at least consider rolling the dice first.
